The Rock is a little bar and restaurant on the east coast of Zanzibar and in Pingwe. A long drive from Stonetown, but only a short hop up from Dongwe where we were being deliciously spoiled at Anna of Zanzibar. There is a boat that takes you across the short distance of water at high tides, but at low tide you can walk across the spit and right up the stairs. The food is okay, and the drinks overpriced for this view. Better to grab a few beers from the villa and sit on the beach to enjoy the spectacular view and look for shells.
