We were a good 30 yards from this Lion on a morning drive through the Serengeti. He was lying in a grassy riverbed stalking a small herd of impala with a large contingent of females doing the actual work. I managed to catch this as we drove up and stopped the truck. His eyes feel like they pierce right through us although we were sure not to disturb the breakfast hunt.
